1. How do I register with you?
We operate a roving recruitment model which means that our recruiters will meet you at a convenient place near to either your home or workplace. Our registration process is very comprehensive - to make an appointment with us please call: 0871 87 333 90

2. What happens if I am already registered with one of your sister agencies, i.e. Ambition 24Hours Locum UK or South Africa?
If you are registered with Ambition 24hours UK, there is no need to register again. All of your information is shared between the two agencies, in strict confidence. The benefit of this is that  you only need to become compliant with one of our UK agencies, which saves money on training courses, occupational health and Criminal Records Bureau checks. One registration process but double the work opportunities.

If you are a South African doctor currently working for us in South Africa, you will need to register your details with us; the compliance differences between the two continents are vast. Please note that we do not recruit South African doctors into the UK: wehave signed up to the NHS Code of Conduct which prohibits recruitment from South Africa. We can only deal with South Africans that have landed in the UK, have the right to work in the UK and hold a current GMC registration.

3. Working with us: What can I expect?
We operate nationally across the UK and provide services to NHS Hospitals, private hospitals, organizations, PCT's and other healthcare providers. Agency work is driven by client demand and so can vary from season-to-season and according to demands regionally. Agency locums are booked by our clients usually to cover anything from a short term requirement to a maternity /vacancy cover post. Our consultants work hard every day across the UK to secure for you the best assignments.

4. How can I make sure that I am in a good position to maximize my opportunities?
You need to make sure that you constantly update your availability with us, which can be done online at A24connect. It is also important to talk to and build a rapport with the consultants that are responsible for shift allocations. They are all organised into teams - so if for example you live in London, ask for the London team, and similarly in other regions. Finally, it is important that you manage your records with us via the A24 Connect web site, because if you are not compliant at all times then our consultants will be unable to book you for shifts.

5. What is A24 Connect?
A24 Connect is our candidate management portal. Once you have attended an interview with us you will receive an email inviting you to log onto the A24 Connect web site, where you are able to manage your compliance processes and can see at a glance what is required to make your record 'Work Live'. Once you are cleared for work, you can download timesheets, provide details of your availability and other activities on-line.

6. Do you provide transport to clients?
No, it is your responsibility to travel to the shift by the required start time.

7. How will I know what I should get paid?
Our pay rates are available on this website and will also be conveyed to you by our consultants at the time of booking.

8. How do I get paid?
We operate a weekly payroll. In order to get paid, you must complete a timesheet (available at A24connect) It is important that you print your name clearly on the timesheet, the name of the client, the hours that you have worked (less breaks) and the grade or band that you have worked as. The timesheet can only be agreed by an authorized signatory at the client establishment.

9. Where do I send my timesheet?
All timesheets must be emailed or posted to our payroll department. Ambition House, 92-96 Lind Road, Sutton, Surrey, SM1 4PL. Timesheets must reach our payroll team by no later than 12 noon on Monday to be paid that Friday.

10. How do the pay run cut-offs work?
If your timesheet reaches us by 12 noon on a Monday, you will be paid for all shifts up to the previous Sunday night.

11. How do I get my payslip?
We will post your payslip to your home address.

12. Can I do agency work for Locum Services of the UK and Ambition 24Hours Locum if I am registered with you?
Absolutely, each agency has different work opportunities available and pay different rates of pay. All agency work is dependent upon meeting the compliance requirements of each of our agencies.

13. How do I make myself available for work with both agencies?
It is easy - just go online to A24 Connect and update your availability - this will immediately reflect on the systems of both agencies.

14. What happens if I don’t want to work for one of your agencies?
